Sugar-Derivated Polyhydroxylated Nitrones as Novel Water-Soluble Radical Traps

This technology is an original and highly efficient process outlining the preparation of two novel classes of compounds exhibiting anti-oxidative properties (European Patent n°2007 00973). We are currently seeking industrial partners interested in carrying out in-vivo tests to demonstrate the potential of these new molecules in combating oxidative stress.

Key features of the compoundsaa024538_7.jpg

  • High water solubility
  • Low molecular weight
  • Good stability
  • Structural resemblance to natural sugars
  • Anti-oxidative properties

Principal benefits of the coumpounds

Highly-efficient process
The process is a highly efficient and novel means of developing a large variety of molecules derived from natural carbohydrates.

Potential Applications

  • Pharmaceuticals (oxidative-stress induced diseases)
  • Food Industry (additives)
  • Cosmetics (anti-ageing)
