High Efficiency DNA engineering. Custom-made DNA vectors. Custom-made bacterial strainsIntroductionGenetic engineering aims at rearranging the DNA sequences in order to confer new properties to diverse living cells. Genetic engineering is an important component of fundemental biological research and also enables biotechnology industries to discober, better understand or even create new biological molecules or processes. The enterobacterium Escherichia coli is used by BGene as a "genetic factory": besides creating custom-made E/ coli strains and plasmids, we can modify or create all types of DNA vector in this bacterium (plasmids, cosmids, BACs etc.) that can then be integrated into other hosts. BGene is also currently working on the development of new, highly promising, genetic tools originating from biological species and intended for use in biological research. BGene is a partnership between the Laboratory for the Adaptation and Pathogeny of Microorganisms (Laboratoire Adaptation et Pathogénie des Microorganismes, UJF/CNRS, Grenoble, France) and The Institute for research into Information technology (INRIA) for molecular and system biology. Other partners include Genostar (Bioinformatic analysis). www.genostar.com Products and Services> Vector Engineering > E. coli chromosome engineering > Research & Development > Libraries and screens > Consulting Target AudienceWe can create custom-made bacterial strains and plasmids for :
